Strike A Pose...with Lee Lin Chin
Explore the world of Australian Style in the 1960s and 70s, when trendsetters created a fashion revolution with a mix of miniskirts, space-aged garments and 'granny' dresses. Posed fashion shots sit alongside the exuberance of street culture, capturing the essence of a period when cultural change ruled.
Strike a Pose...with Lee Lin Chin features 89 images taken by Australian Government photographers during the 1960s and 70s to promote the burgeoning Australian fashion industry. Many images are drawn from the collection of the Australian News and Information Bureau, which took images to promote Australian industry and lifestyle overseas.
With fashion icon and broadcaster Lee Lin Chin as guest curator, the exhibition celebrates the emerging local fashion industry at the time, along with its personalities, trends and influences.
'These pictures are not about art' writes Lee Lin Chin. 'They are not even just about fashion because, from today's perspective, they've recorded a transcendent historical moment when nothing was going to be quite the same again.'
Lee Lin's chosen images represent the many aspects of this exhibition, and the decades that the exhibition explores. From casual shorts in the country to the chic of the city, from funky leather to smart pillbox hats, from sun soaked beaches to brilliant skies, Lee Lin's commentary reflects the larger changes that were taking place.

Robert Hannaford is one of South Australia's best known and most critically acclaimed living artists and one of the nation's finest portrait painters. Robert Hannaford: Open Studio takes the viewer behind the scenes and into the artists studio. Drawn entirely from the artist's personal collection and all corners of his studio, this exhibition uses rarely and never exhibited work, including sketch books, maquettes, landscape, portrait and figure studies, and finished paintings, to give unique insights into the artist's practice. Photographic and video material and memorabilia collected by the artist across a lifetime provide additional insights into the artist's world.

Patterns of Spirituality - A Search for Meaning
Artists from throughout Australia are invited to submit two or three dimensional works which depict an aspect of spirituality in their lives, or the lives of others. Spirituality has been a cornerstone of our existence since time began. It influences our patterns of behaviour and patterns of expression in visual art. Whatever its form be it an Aboriginal dot painting expressing a spiritual association with country, the colourful symbolism of the mandala, the sacred window of the Icon, a classical figurative work or the intricate contemplative designs of Islamic art, its aim is to deepen our religious experience. To take us on a search for meaning.
Coordinated by the Port Pirie Regional Art Gallery in conjunction with the Anglican Diocese of Willochra and the Catholic Diocese of Port Pirie
In 1600 scientists William Gilbert discovered the Earth was a giant magnet. Later scientists and explorers dedicated themselves to understanding how this magnetic field worked. They were driven partly by curiosity and partly by a desire to improve navigation. By the 19th century they had worked out that a compas needle was pulled towards a magnetic rather than geographic pole.
Quest traces one of the most bizzare, protracted quests in exploration history. For over 150 years, using sailing ships and sledges, in one of the planet's most hostile environments, explorers risked their lives to plant a flag at a shifting point on the Earth's surface.
Australia played a pivotal role in the quest. The great nineteenth century ship - based expeditions wintered in its ports, and Australian scientists were key players in the 20th century search for the Pole on the continent. The exhibition explores the astounding risks and punishing conditions that sledging parties endure in their search for the pole. It was not until the year 2000 that the quest finally concluded - back at sea, from a ship, by an Australian scientist, and with surprisingly little fanfare.
